What I Will Miss

There are plenty of things I will not miss about Brooklyn. The hospital, traffic, driving, parking, and some of the attitudes. But there are plenty of things I will miss. Prospect Park is definitely one of them - the park in my backyard. Amerikick is definitely another.

One More Study Day

Sparring tonight. Last sparring class. :( And, likely my last class with my running buddy Marco. It's getting real.

Last day to study! By tomorrow at this time, it should really be over.

Ouch

Blocking basics last night. Against each other. Forearms very bruised! Great conditioning though.

Additional June 17 workout: ATB before karate, 110 push-ups, 1 min of burpees, 40 v-ups. I still hate v-ups. I should practice those.

One More Week

I'm starting to get that feeling of 'I know what I know, I know what I don't know, let's just get this over with!'

My days at Amerikick are getting smaller. Will make every class from now til I leave for WAGO, but then that'll be it. Next time, I'll be a white belt again.

I Could Get Used to This

Saw Nik, Dylan, and Ant yesterday. It's amazing what we've all been through since we met. Nik's about to have her second baby, Dylan's a little man, and Ant's program director for radiology at Harlem Hospital. And I'm done with fellowship. Pretty amazing.

Graduation was awesome. Which surprised me, in some ways. Everyone was appreciative of me - and when you've spent 3 years not really feeling like anyone cares, it's nice to know that maybe you did make a teeny tiny difference.

Sleep

Seemed to need it yesterday. Not sure why, but was asleep before 5 pm til 830 and then read for a while, back asleep before midnight. Slept til 7 and was shocked to see the sun. Thought it was supposed to rain all weekend. Guess not!

Only did 1 pull up because I hit the 10 second mark. I'll do more tomorrow. Not that I'm too surprised or anything, but my legs hurt more today than yesterday from those spin kicks. Glad I didn't do karate last night!

Kirstie's birthday dinner tonight. Studying in between. Practiced my thesis last night  and the talk runs 26 of my allotted 30 min. Sounds good to me!

Skipped karate tonight because my groin hurts from the spinning kicks yesterday. Felt good to run though. Longest run since hurting my eye. Guess that means I'm sparring this week. :)

A little heat wave to start June. Supposed to break today, but I really should have gotten up and out of bed a little earlier to beat the heat. And I was out at 9:15!
