So last night, I started back an old habit - karate. I'm sore as sh*t this morning, but it felt good and I had a smile on my face. Brought back a lot of memories of childhood and the many hours I spent training (and teaching) karate.

2 classes a week for a year to sign up. Might as well, right?

Warm Weather

It's a beautiful day today! Got my mile in before noon, cleaned the floor of my apartment and tidied up a little. Now I just have to make my list of what needs to get done and start!

Back to the Night

So I couldn't bear to get up early to run yesterday. So I ran when I got home. And I couldn't bear to run throughout most of the day today, so I just did it at 9 pm.

Yesterday was fun - started with red velvet cake in the morning from Tana and then an American Cancer Society dinner "from Salame" in honor of Dr. Economos. Tonight, it's dinner and drinks with some of the residents. That's AFTER the site visit. I'll be glad when that's over and it's a return to business as usual.

Morning Run x 2

Well, yesterday I ran in the morning before driving to PA to see Lucas (and Scott & Leigh) for his 2nd birthday. Today, I ran in the morning before going up to Brooklyn Hospital to operate. I think I'm going to try this for a week and see how I feel.

I threw my back out in the OR today. Hurts like a b*tch, and that's on top of the muscle spasm I've had in my neck for a week. The massage with my sister-in-law can't come soon enough!

Veteran's Day

So yesterday was dad's rescheduled echo. Doc called me later in the evening - EF 45-50%. He thinks it's a little generous but basically means everything is going as well as (and even better) than expected!

Strategic Planning

Start my day with a stressful email. Michael sent me info about the strategic plan for the division and figuring out what needs to be done to open a line for me to join the division. Which always makes me worried that they aren't going to find a line for me and means that I don't get the job that I want...

And then began my day of operating, which went fine, I guess. This time change has stressed my body - up at 4:15 am and at 7 pm I was ready to fall asleep. So I figured I'd run.

Ok, the snowstorm was crazy. My parents got 12 inches of snow and they've been without power since Sunday night.
