Another Day

note to my readers...this post contains the text document that I kept for the last few weeks when I wasn't able to connect to the internet with my laptop. It's a long one!

...another dollar. I still don't get how I'm getting paid so much money and really not seeing that many patients. 10-12 patients a day. $600 a day. Really?

So I'm adjusting to not working that many hours. Which I'm definitely not complaining about. And I'm not yet doing anything extra. Trying to save money, trying to live within my means. That is, until I get this paycheck and then WOOHOO! I've got some money! But about the running.

Aug 4: Left out of Econo Lodge, down 37, right onto a road, up the hill, ran until a dog started chasing me, and then turned around and went back
Distance: 1 mile (though I haven't mapmyrun'd it yet)
Time: 8:10
Feeling: Not too bad.
After, I played with my kettlebell for a while. Did some snatches, cleans, presses and a set of Turkish get-ups. Debating about trying to run in the morning. Tomorrow, I think I'm going to bring clothes with me and find somewhere different to run after work.

~~~~~~
Two more down!
Aug 5: Right out Econo Lodge, one pole past where I've stopped before
Distance: 1+ mile
Time: 8:57
Aug 6: Right out Econo Lodge, first pole, 2 laps of Econo
Distance: 1 mile
Time: No watch
Feeling: Full ~ had a really big dinner!
~~~~~~

I'm going crazy

'cause I can't post any of this on blogspot! I've been keeping it as a notepad document for the last almost 2 weeks because my computer only occasionally can connect to the internet. Pain in my ass. I'm still running though.

Aug 7: Second pole run
Distance: 1+ mile
Time: 10:03 (probably shorter, I just forgot to stop my watch)

Aug 8: Second pole run
Distance: 1+ mile
Time: 9:45

I really need to get a new laptop. That's on my list of things I want when I get my first big paycheck on the 25th. Along with my new running shoes. Can't wait!

Also, I've decided to drive to my UVA interview. I've got the time at that point in the month, since I'm homeless anyhow, and overall, I think it's cheaper than flying, and really, will take about the same amount of time. The drive is supposed to be 8 hours, the flight is 5 with a stopover, plus traveling to the airport, parking, etc. I think driving will be worth it.

Now I remembered what I was supposed to work on today ~ my UTSW presentation! But let me go run first.

Aug 9: Down to the Speed Limit sign, past the second pole
Distance: 1+ miles (I really need to drive it to get a distance)
Time: 11:06
Weather: Cloudy, humid, 73 degrees
Feeling: Pretty good. Could probably go further. Will try to test it out a little bit at a time. The humidity sucked. And it was different running mid-day, not at dusk like I have been.

~~~~~~
Keep on Going
Aug 10: To the Speed Limit Sign
Distance: 1.25 miles
Aug 11: To the green sign past the Speed Limit
Distance: 1.4 miles
Time: 11:50
Aug 12: To the second pole
Disntace: 1+ miles
Going nuts that I haven't posted any of this...but happy I'm still running. As of Aug 21, I have 141 days to go, and have run for 221 days straight.
Wow.
~~~~~~~

Aug 13: To the first pole, 1 lap around the Econo Lodge
Distance: 1 mile
Feeling: Not good...dinner did not agree with me!

Aug 14: Running at the Locks - from the Visitors Center back to the Entrance
Distance: ~ 1.2 miles
Time: 10:13
Feeling: Great ~ and watching the boat after was pretty cool too!

~~~~~~
Aug 15: To the yellow sign and back
Distance: 1.6 miles (or more)
Time: No watch
Feeling: Pretty good ~ I was at a good pace and felt comfortable, even with the extra distance. I know I've got to start upping my distance. The three of us (Dana, Heather and I) are all still in. Which I have to say, is still pretty damn impressive.
Tomorrow I head to Ithaca. Going to catch up with Tricia, Coach Nichols and Jack. Plus, take a lot of pictures. Should be a fun day!
Another Week Down
Wow, so much has happened...I went to Ithaca, finished at Massena, and am now in Texas. Here's the running stats.
Aug 16: To the first pole and one lap around Econo Lodge
Distance: 1 mile
Time: Early morning...
Aug 17: Second pole and back
Distance: 1+ mile
Aug 18: Second pole and back
Distance: 1+ mile
Aug 19: First pole and 1 lap
Distance: 1 mile
Time: Early morning
Then I drove to Albany after my last day at Massena to catch my plane to Dallas yesterday morning.
Aug 20: 3 laps of Crowne Plaza
Distance: ~1 mile
Time: 9:13
Feeling: Tried to run late, in the hopes that the weather would get less humid. Notsomuch.
Aug 21: Running the area around the Crowne Plaza
Distance: 1+ mile
Time: 10:21
Feeling: Pretty good. The thunderstorms this morning helped with the humidity.
Tomorrow, it's back to CT. Sunday, it's football in the city. Monday, I'm off to Virginia. Or maybe Tuesday...still have to finalize this trip's plans. On that note, I should probably email Chris to see if I can stay with him on Monday night. Then I need to make plans for Tuesday night, with plans to drive back on Wednesday. Then it's RI!
~~~~~~

Run More!
Aug 22: Up Elm St, Right by Ceppa, Right onto Oak, ran the cul-de-sac at Gallopie and back onto Oak, Right onto Silver and home.
Distance: 1 mile
Feeling: Hungry! Went to dinner with the 'rents after. And happy to be off a plane

Aug 23: East River Run after football. From 83rd up to about 93rd and back.
Distance: 1+ mile
Time: 10:15
Feeling: Tired! But glad to have had one last hurrah with the football team!

Aug 24: Meriden run again
Distance: 1 mile
Feeling: Hot! Ran midday, and the only way to use my laptop is to connect it upstairs at my parents, which is not air conditioned.

Now I'm off to DC for the night, then Virginia in the morning, which comes with my first attending paycheck ~ $6K! Which is good, 'cause after I take out the $60 in my account, I'm going to be down to about $10 to my name...
