Yet Another Lost Post

Wrote a whole thing yesterday about almost falling in a pile of dog/horse shit, and poof! Gone again.

And now it's cold!  My lungs still hurt from the run tonight.  Probably should have gone out earlier.

I need a vacation.  Tomorrow's the last day of 'doing nothing' where I should be getting lots accomplished but I've really enjoyed doing nothing.  Though I have tried to clean my apartment.

Birthday!

Finally starting to feel a little less sick. Went to karate last night. Always puts a smile on my face. Sensei Ross and Ralph both missed me, which was sweet, and I got promoted to purple belt. Which was a good birthday present and sorta fitting.

So great to see people! The expected: Liz, Cara, Kirthi, Nancy and the unexpected: Gorelick and Droesch. So great to see Droesch! It was an awesome few days.

Hard to See

All the trees down in the Park. Pales in comparison to the devastation people are suffering, I know. But these trees are so old and there are so many that have fallen - even if replaced, it'll take another hundred years to grow again.

So proud of everyone who ran in Central Park today, who ran to Staten Island to help, or just ran. We're runners. We'd run anyhow.

Run for Prospect Park

The Frankenstorm wasn't overhyped. There's still places without power, downtown Manhattan flossed, and the Jersey Shore is destroyed.

Oct 29: 1 mile in BSB. Hallway down and back, up the stairs, repeat from 3rd to 7th floor.

The NYC Marathon has been canceled. So in the last 48 hours, more than 1000 people signed up to run in Prospect Park. The first race in a City Park since Hurricane Sandy. We raised more than $25K to help rebuild the Park. It's amazing and sad to see all the huge old trees down. But we will rebuild.
