Another Weekend On Call

Happy to run in the Park today in daylight. Didn't run til after rounds. If I can, I want to run early tomorrow and then accomplish a lot at work. I'm going to have to make a schedule tonight because otherwise I'm not going to get everything done that I need to do.

It's 6 pm. What's the chance I actually accomplish anything tonight...

SGO Sickness

That's what I'm going to call what I get every year at this time. My SGO sickness.

I went back and checked my old posts - Michael got me sick my first year going to SGO; last year I was sick when I went (and proceeded to get him sick, which I guess was payback). So it seems right on schedule to feel feverish with a cough and more mucus than the body should be allowed to produce.

I remember my first year when I started running every day - I couldn't really believe that I went and ran sick. Now, it's just something that I'm used to.

Got sent home from work today - can't really see chemo patients when I'm sick.

February Only Has 28 Days

and Thank GOD for that. Because this has been a really long month.

The week back from vacation was lots of late nights in the OR. Then Tana went on vacation. Then we both worked for a week with lots of late nights in the OR, lots of complicated cases, and all around less than fun work. This past weekend, I was off and headed to PA and Ithaca to visit people and not sleep much and now I've got my routine SGO sickness.

Meanwhile, I've been running. Pretty much every night, late, around the block. The exception to that was my one treadmill run in Ithaca.

SGO and APGO can't come soon enough.

Back on Vacation

At least, that's what I'd like to be. Instead, it was an OR day after Grand Rounds. And it was a long day in the OR, just finishing at 10 pm.

Feb 7: Ran around the block after parking my car 1/2 mile away.

May do that in the morning on my way to the car as a way to get my run in early. And I have to do chemo orders in the morning. And I have no idea what happened at Downstate all day.

So not fun. So so so not fun.

Run to the Parking Lot

So today I had to go get my car out of the parking lot so I could go to Tana's to work on grand rounds. I expected it to be covered in snow. But nope, there it was, as clean as could be when I got there. Made me quite happy.

And today was beautiful out. 49 degrees and sunny. Only wish it could stay like that...

Well, I'm back on the East Coast.

I'm happy and sad to be home at the same time. Spent yesterday lost in a book and still have to finish my Grand Rounds. And clean the apartment. And start working on the poster. And and and andandand...

Not tonight though.

Extended Vacation

Flight didn't get out because of the massive storm sweeping the country. Which leaves me in San Diego til Friday.

Had to check out of my hotel and into a cheaper one today given my now extended stay. And I really need to get working on my Grand Rounds.
